Filling the Ink Tanks with Sublimation Ink
Ink Tank Filling Guide
Welcome, future sublimation masters! Filling your printer’s ink tanks correctly is the most critical step in converting your printer for sublimation. Follow these instructions carefully to ensure a smooth and successful setup. Let’s get those tanks filled and ready for vibrant prints!
Before You Begin: What You’ll Need
- Your Sublimation Ink Bottles (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black)
- Paper towels or a clean cloth (for any potential spills – ink happens!)
Ink Handling Precautions
- Keep ink bottles and the ink tanks out of the reach of children.
- Do not allow children to drink from or handle the ink bottles and bottle caps.
- Do not tilt or shake an ink bottle after opening it;otherwise,ink may leak.
- Store ink bottles in a cool, dark place. Keep them out of direct sunlight.
Caution: If the ink level is below the lower line on the ink tank, fill it to the upper line on the ink tank. Continued use of the product when the ink level is below the lower line on a tank could damage the product.
Carefully align the nozzle of on of the colour ink bottle with the corresponding ink tank valve on your printer. Gently press down to engage the valve and allow the ink to flow. Watch the ink level closely as it fills the tank. Stop filling when the ink reaches the upper line marker on the tank.
Recap and Repeat for Other Colors
Once the first tank is filled to the marker, carefully lift the bottle to disengage the valve.Securely close the black ink tank cap on the printer. Immediately clean up any ink spills with your paper towels. Repeat this entire process for the remaining colors. It’s crucial to match each ink bottle to its respective tank:

- Y = Yellow Ink Tank
- B = Black Ink Tank
- M = Magenta Ink Tank
- C = Cyan Ink Tank
Take your time and double-check you’re putting the right color in the right tank!
When all the tanks are filled, you can put your ink bottles away and move to the next page.
