Perform a Test Cut

Step 3: Perform a Test Cut:

This simple test will confirm your machine is ready to cut.

1. Take a piece of cardstock or paper and place it on the top-left corner of your cutting mat. Ensure it adheres well to the sticky surface.
2. Align the mat with the left guideline on the machine and press the “Load” button (up-arrow icon) on the machine’s touch panel. The machine will pull the mat in.
3. On the touch panel, navigate to the “Test Cut” option and select it. The machine will perform a small cut.
4. The machine will cut a small square with a triangle inside. This is a standard test pattern.
5. Once finished, press the “Unload” button (down-arrow icon) on the touch panel.
6. Peel the paper off the mat. The cut should be clean and crisp, without cutting through the mat’s sticky backing. If the cut is not clean, you may need to check the blade installation or consult the troubleshooting guide in a later module.
