The Golden Rule and Why It Matters

The Golden Rule for Professional Printing

For consistently clear and professional prints, especially with sublimation, there is one rule to always follow:

Create your design files at 300 DPI. This is the industry standard for high-quality printing.

It is crucial to start with a high-resolution file. You cannot effectively increase the quality of a low-resolution image by simply changing the DPI setting later; the necessary detail was never there to begin with.

Why High Resolution Matters for Sublimation

Because the ink literally becomes one with the product, the quality of your initial design file is paramount. Any flaws, pixelation, or blurriness in your digital file will be permanently infused into the item. A high-resolution image ensures the ink has enough data to produce the rich, sharp, and detailed results that make sublimation so popular.

Pro Tip: Always proofread and zoom in on your design file before sublimation. What looks good on screen at 72 DPI might be blurry when printed at 300 DPI!
