Aluminum Sheets -Step-by-Step Instructions
- Prepare Your Design & Aluminum
-
- Ensure your sublimation print is mirrored.
- CRITICAL: Most sublimation aluminum has a clear protective film on the coated side. YOU MUST REMOVE THIS FILM BEFORE PRESSING.
- Pre-Press the Aluminum (Recommended)
-
- With the protective film removed, briefly pre-press the aluminum for a few seconds. This helps remove moisture and ensures it’s flat, especially in humid environments.
- Protect Your Setup & Position Materials
-
- Place protective paper (Silicon Paper recommended) on the bottom platen of your heat press.
- Lay the mirrored sublimation print face up on the protective paper.
- Position the aluminum item (coated side, film removed) face down onto the sublimation print.
- Secure with heat-resistant tape to prevent shifting.
- Place another sheet of protective paper on top of the back of the aluminum.
- Press & Monitor
-
- Press using the settings recommended above. Adjust time slightly based on aluminum thickness if experienced.
- Post-Press Care
-
- HOT! The aluminum will be VERY hot after pressing. Use heat-resistant gloves.
- Peel Immediately: Carefully remove the sublimation paper straight away while the item is still hot.
