Cleaning your nozzles on a L121
- Make sure the Epson L121 printer is powered on and connected to your computer.
- On your computer, open the Control Panel (Windows) or System Preferences (Mac).
- Navigate to Devices and Printers (Windows) or Printers & Scanners (Mac).
- Select your Epson L121 printer and open the Printing Preferences or Utility tab.
Step 2: Perform a Nozzle Check
- In the printer utility window, select Nozzle Check.
- The printer will print a test pattern of colored lines.
- Review the printout:
- Good result: All lines are complete with no gaps.
- Poor result: Lines are broken or missing, indicating clogged nozzles.
Step 3: Clean the Print Heads
If the nozzle check shows gaps:
- In the printer utility, select Head Cleaning.
- Wait while the printer performs the cleaning cycle (this may take a few minutes).
- After cleaning, run another Nozzle Check.
- Repeat the cleaning process if necessary (up to 3 times). Note: Excessive cleaning uses ink, so avoid repeating more than 3 cycles in a row.
Step 4: Confirm Results
- If the nozzle check pattern is clear, the printer is ready for use.
- If problems persist after multiple cleanings:
- Turn off the printer and wait for several hours before trying again.
- Ensure you are using genuine Epson ink.
- Contact Epson support if issues continue.
Tips for Best Results
- Use the printer regularly to prevent ink from drying in the nozzles.
- Keep the printer in a dust-free environment.
- Always use recommended Epson ink for the L121 model.
✅ Outcome: Following these steps will help restore print quality and keep your Epson L121 printer functioning smoothly.
